Favorite Shops : The Citizenry

Whenever I find new shops selling great products, I love to share it with friends and family. My latest find is The Citizenry. The Citizenry is a company started by two women, Carly and Rachel, with a mission to "design and deliver modern home goods rich in quality and meaning, support entrepreneurs around the world, and eliminate unnecessary markups along the way".

The site's first collection features handmade pillows, blankets, rugs and chairs from Peru and Argentina. All items are hand numbered and available only in limited quantities. As if that wasn't enough, 10% of proceeds go towards development grants for artisan entrepreneurs. The final cherry on top? The products are BEAUTIFUL!

  

I just received my very first purchase last week, and I have to say I am blown away by the service and quality. I ordered the Verano Pillow on a Tuesday evening and it was delivered to my doorstep, free of charge, by Friday. When the package arrived, this is what greeted me...

Packaged with love AND a hand-written letter thanking me for my purchase? Wow. I can't say I've ever received anything quite like that before. Plus, the pillow was wrapped in a beautiful cover that I will most definitely be making into something awesome in the coming weeks. On top of that, the pillow is gorgeous! It is made of 100% alpaca fibers and is super soft.
