Week 11: Plumbing
Eating turkey and spending time with family took precedence this week, but I figured I'd go ahead and share the progress that was made despite the shortened timeframe. Tyler and I met with the plumber on Tuesday morning to do a walk-thru. We wanted to ensure wall-mount faucet locations were confirmed and finalize washer and dryer locations. The sort of things that may not seem too exciting at first, but all of these details are incredibly important to get right the first time.
As always, we stopped by on Saturday to check on progress and found all of the rough-ins in place. Below is a nice shot of the plumbing for the kitchen sink. The sink will be centered under the large window - the view is amazing! Doing dishes may not be so bad after all. :)
The pipes to the right of the window are for the master bathroom which is located right above the living room. We will have built-in shelves located on the wall where those pipes are located, allowing us to hide everything without needing bulk heads.
Below is a view of the rough-in for the washing machine. The washer will be on the left with the dryer on the right.
And here is where the wall-mount faucet for the first floor powder bathroom will be located. (The laundry room is on the other side - you can see the plumbing for the washer to the right.)
Finally, here is the plumbing for the master bathroom. First up is the double vanity followed by the large walk-in shower. I know it's tough to visualize, but at least the details are being put in place!
We hope to have a roof installed shortly as well as electricity and mechanical rough-ins. I'm sure siding and insulation won't be too far behind. Check back next week for another update!
