Do you listen to podcasts? Oh man, I've become obsessed. I frequently listen while I'm at work or riding in the car. I suppose we should back up just a bit, though... Do you know what a podcast is? No big deal if you don't. Let me explain.
A podcast is an audio program, like a radio show, that is posted to the Internet for you to download and listen to using your desktop or mobile device. Some are professional radio programs like NPR's Fresh Air or TED Radio Hour while others are produced by your average Joe. Basically, anyone with audio recording tools can make their own podcast.
So what are these podcasts about? Anything! You can find a podcast about nearly any subject imaginable - fantasy football, comic books, literature, cars, movies, health, fashion. The list goes on and on. The best part? Almost all podcasts are FREE. You simply subscribe and download the episodes you would like to listen to. Easy-peasy.
How do you find them? If you have an iPhone, the app is already available. You should see a purple app that looks like this:
Simply click on the app and you can start "subscribing" to podcasts. I listen to several, but my current obsession is with Well/Aware by Lindsay Mueller. Lindsay is a wellness blogger and has created this podcast to highlight inspiring individuals that have designed a wellness lifestyle. It was founded on "the belief that a world in which we slow down and take better care of ourselves, others and the environment would be a better one". The interviews are very thought provoking and have encouraged me to continue with my own desire live more mindfully.
