With temperatures dipping below zero, I'm afraid winter has officially hit the midwest. I suppose we should be thankful we're saying that for the first time mid-January, but our trip to Palm Springs couldn't have come at a better time. With plans to hike Joshua Tree, explore midcentury architecture, and lay by the pool, 75 and sunny never sounded so good.

As always, I plan to take my trusty Lo & Son's Catalina weekender and a few desert-approved staples.

It doesn't matter what time of year it is, I'm always cold on airplanes. Several light layers is my trick to staying comfortable. While high heel boots may seem like an impractical option, these Madewell billie boots have a side zipper that makes them easy to put on and off in security, and I can wear super warm wool socks to keep my toes warm!

Exploring new cities means lots of walking. My trusty Birkenstocks have never done me wrong. Paired with a basic stripe tee and a necklace from Rock Salt Vintage, I'm ready for anything.

Laying poolside has never sounded so good. Let's just hope my whiter than white skin doesn't get burned!

Sometimes you just need a gray tee and a pair of trusty sneakers. No matter the agenda for the day, this outfit has me ready for an adventure.

I plan to take advantage of the 70 degree weather in southern California which means I will be busting out the shorts at every chance I get. To make sure I'm not cold, my Everlane cashmere sweater will be the perfect layer to keep me warm and cozy.

As always, thanks for following along! I'll try to bring some warm weather back to Indiana. :)
