Brand Spotlight // Rock Salt Vintage
Over the past year, I have made a concerted effort to seek out products that support organic agriculture, fair-trade and sweat-shop free products, and local and independent businesses. I often ask myself, “Is this item made in line with my values? Am I supporting the local economy? Are the people who produce this item treated and compensated fairly? Is this item built to last?”
After purging most of my closet in 2014, it's been of utmost importantance that new purchases meet these standards. I want to bring items into my home that I love and am proud to support. Just imagine looking into your own closet and seeing only pieces that you love. Getting dressed would be a breeze!
As I have stumbled upon some great brands over the past year, I am often asked by friends and family where they, too, can find locally sourced products. Well I'm happy to announce that I will be featuring brands, products and companies that I support through a series called "Brand Spotlight". I hope to curate a collection of brands that all of you can easily reference - right here on the blog! If you're looking for a great pair of everyday earrings, a locally sourced batch of salsa or even a gift for someone special, you can come right to My Simply Simple to find a local vendor for your needs. As always, please feel free to pass along any recommendations!
To kick things off, let's talk about a brand that has quickly taken over my jewelry collection - Rock Salt Vintage. Each piece of Rock Salt Vintage jewelry is handmade by Katelin Reeser in her Cincinnati home studio. I first found Katelin's jewelry while attending Porter Flea in Nashville, TN last summer. The simple, modern design caught my eye amongst the sea of vendors. I started with a pair of silver earrings and the rest was history.
Katelin's work is elegant without being fussy. The clean lines and natural materials create an understated elegance that makes each piece shine. The jewelry is great for everyday wear as well as special occasions, and I am constantly receiving compliments followed by, "where can I buy that?!"
"Rock Salt Vintage began as an assemblage of found and vintage materials by designer Katelin Reeser. The brand has evolved to represent handmade metal and gemstone jewelry. Architecture and natural formations are the basis for Katelin's structural yet delicate designs."

A design based on nature is one that is sure to stand the test of time. Katelin's pieces even make excellent gifts. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, what better way to celebrate than a timeless piece of jewelry!
A BIG thank you to Katelin for allowing me to feature her artistry on the blog today! You can find more pieces by clicking over to her online Etsy Shop or by accessing her personal website to see a list of vendors throughout the US selling Rock Salt Vintage. You can also connect with Katelin via Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
Katelin also often attends markets through-out the year including Porter Flea in Nashville, TN and City Flea and Cincinnati, OH where you can see her pieces in person. These events are another great way to meet designers and support local businesses!
I am not affiliated with Rock Salt Vintage nor did I receive compensation for this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
