In My Bag | Palm Springs

We’re headed to Palm Springs, CA on our first vacation as a family of four. FOUR! I can hardly believe it. I shared a quick shot of me packing and had a ton of requests to see what’s in my bag. I decided to throw a quick post together with all the details to make things easy.

  • Rib Tank - Slightly cropped and form fitting. I love this fit paired with anything high waisted. The cut at the bust is definitely a little tricky when it comes to bras, but I just pair it with my BRANWYN bralette and make the straps racerback.

  • Racerback Tank - Old style that’s no longer sold.

  • ReCotton Tee - Old style/fabric that’s no longer sold.

  • Micro Rib Tee - This is my very favorite tee and I wear it weekly. It’s perfect for layering in the winter. I’ll pair it with my Pareto sweatshirt when we travel to keep me warm on the plane, but it looks great on it’s own with jeans or shorts too.

  • Button Down Tank - Hemp and cotton blend tank in a beautiful color. It’s extremely soft and super versatile. Easily dressed up or down.

  • Vintage Blouse - I’m a big fan of anything from Go Gently Nation. Their clothes are beautiful, timeless, and made with the best materials. I wear this blouse every single week.

  • Anne Blouse - Dressier top in case we go out to dinner in which case I’d pair it with jeans, but I’ll likely wear with shorts casually the majority of the time.

  • Button Down - Basic button down that goes with anything. Can easily be thrown over a tank for warmth or over a swimsuit as a cover up.

  • Sweatshirt - My favorite sweatshirt. Perfect for layering and looks great with anything.

  • Parker Cutoffs - My favorite shorts ever. I’ve had them for years and have worn them to death.

  • Dee High Rise - A super high rise and slightly longer inseam than the Parker shorts. They look great and are a nice change.

  • Parker Black - Parker fit in a black wash. These are extremely versatile and comfortable.

  • 90s Loose Fit - I’ll wear jeans on the plane to/from, but these are easily paired with a tank in warmer weather. Love them. Just be sure to size down 2-3 sizes if you want a fitted look. They run really big. I wear a 22.

  • Romper - Super cute and affordable! Bought this on a whim and love it.

  • Running Shorts - We go on a super long walk every single morning in Palm Springs. It’s my favorite thing to do, and these are my favorite shorts. I’ll bring two pairs - navy and grey.

  • Running Tank - My favorite tank to go along with my running shorts.

  • Jacket - A versatile jacket to be worn while traveling and on chilly mornings/evenings.

  • Sunday Swim Top - Left On Friday makes expensive swimwear, but it is amazing. I have zero regrets for investing in this set. Flattering, beautiful color, and feels amazing.

  • Hi Tide Swim Bottom - Extremely flattering and oh so comfortable. They don’t ride up or fold down. The desert plum color is my favorite.

  • Birkenstocks - I LOVE MY BIRKENSTOCKS. For 75% of the year, these are what I have on my feet. Love them. Shoes take up so much space in luggage, so I bring only the essentials. I’ll even wear these to the airpot and pack some warm socks in my bag to throw on my feet on the airplane.

  • Running Shoes - I have high arches and over pronate like crazy. These are the only shoes I can wear that don’t make my hips ache by the end of a long walk. Tons of arch support and very comfortable.

  • Blade Ear Hook Set - My favorite pair of earrings. I keep jewelry extremely simple, but I like pieces that are a bit edgy. These are amazing. Love them.

  • Collins Sunglasses - I had wanted a pair of these for ages but couldn’t justify the price tag. Finally found a pair on Postmark and LOVE them.

  • Backpack - I’ve carried this exact backpack for over four years straight, and I absolutely love it. It holds everything - diapers, wipes, sunglasses, wallet, iPad, phone, chapstick, reusable bags, keys, lotion, snacks, water bottles. You name it, I have it in this bag.

  • Carry On - Tyler and I have always been extremely minimal packers and used a bag over our shoulder. Now that we have the girls, we needed more space and something hands-free. Tyler found these 20” carry ons and they are so neat! They have a seat back (and safety strap) that makes the carry on convert to a seat for the girls. It can old up to 220lbs. We’ll use this for both girls instead of lugging our stroller around and risking it getting damaged at gate check. We’ll rent a double stroller in PS instead which is surprisingly affordable.

  • Bralette - Based on the tops I’m bringing, I needed a bra that was extremely versatile. These bralettes easily convert to racerback and they comfortable, so I’ll bring two.

  • Bikini - The only underwear I’ve worn for several years. Love them. Cotton, simple, and no wedgies.

  • Socks - Running socks, although I’ll also throw in a pair or two of my favorite Trail Socks for the plane and traipsing around the house.
