2016 Spring Fashion Trends
The arrival of spring is always a much anticipated event. Brighter colors, shorter hems and lighter materials all begin to peek out in hopes of warmer temperatures ahead. This year, I think we'll be seeing a few trends hitting the scene that we haven't seen for a few decades. First and foremost, flare and wide leg pants! Believe it or not, the 70s are coming back in full force. Expect flares and boxy crop tops paired with stacked heels to be seen far and wide. I'm excited to see some of these styles come back because people of all shapes, sizes and age can find their niche.
Let's take a look at my predictions for the 2016 Spring Fashion Trends: blush, wide leg, glowing, and boxy!
Ever since Pantone announced that one of the 2016 colors of the year was rose quartz, blush tones have been flooding the market. I think we'll be seeing a lot of pale pink, rose, and nude as we enter spring and summer. While I'm not a big pink lover, these varying shades of blush and nude have really caught my eye as they play like neutrals. I'm looking forward to introducing these shades into my wardrobe and even my home.

Pants with movement! Everything from flairs to wide leg pants will be seen this season. This isn't to say that your beloved skinny jeans are out, but if you're in the market for something new, give one of these styles a try. Frankly, I'm excited to see these styles coming back around. A higher rise and a wider leg create legs for miles - something my 5'4" frame will never turn down.

Skincare right now is focused on natural ingredients and achieving "the glow". No more matte or chemical-ridden products! It's about supporting your natural beauty and long-term health. It's about reviving your youthful glow and letting that shine through, rather than covering and concealing with layers of chemicals. Hallelujah!

Much like the wider and more relaxed bottoms that are hitting the market, the trend is also great for your tops and dresses. I'm loving the boxy shapes cut in oh-so-soft materials that allow them to sway as you walk while making sure you don't look like a blimp. Pair the tops with your skinny jeans for a sleek look or with your flairs for an ode to the 70s. I personally love the styles that are a bit cropped paired with a great pair of high-rise denim.

I love to see what's new and trendy as each season approaches, but I'm also doing so with a simplified approach. Trends are great, but be sure to choose those that work for your lifestyle long term. New styles are meant to add a little variety to our wardrobes, not for us to go out and buy a bunch of slave labor driven products. Find what works best for you and adds some versatility to your wardrobe. Fashion is supposed to be FUN after all!
