Motherhood: Simple Leather Baby Shoes
Over the last year, I have become a real sucker for clothes and accessories for little ones. I love researching new-to-me brands and finding great companies to support. Everything is just cuter when it’s tiny, I’m sure of it!
While Marin isn’t walking quite yet, she’s showing all the signs that it probably won’t be long. I’m sure she’ll run barefoot most of the time while at home, but as we get into fall and winter, a nice pair of leather shoes has been on my wishlist. I started doing a bit of research, and while I found several incredibly cute options, everything was REALLY pricey. Like $100+ pricey. Yikes! I asked for recommendations on Instagram, and as always, I received tons of amazing options. THANK YOU!
Several of you were also interested in the feedback I received, so I decided it would most efficient to summarize and share my research + top picks in a blog post for easy reference. I received 40+ unique brand recommendations, almost all of which were new to me. I looked up every single brand and sifted out my top nine picks. Prices range from about $35 - $100+ with most landing around $50 - that seemed to be the average going rate for baby leather shoes these days. I hope this is helpful!

Little Folk Shoes : These “Dream Weavers” are incredibly cute, but all of the shoes from Little Folk are right up my alley. It looks like the shop is currently taking a break from orders, but I’m anxious to check out their full selection when the shop reopens.
Freshly Picked : TONS of recommendations for this brand. They look great for babies and beginning walkers. The moccasin style isn’t usually my first pick, but these Mary Jane’s are pretty cute.
Adelisa & Co : Handmade in Nicaragua, these shoes are absolutely beautiful and exactly what I was looking for at a great price point. I have several pairs on my wishlist including Paseo, Dalia, and Ticuantepe. I’m a sucker for little girls in boots! While probably not ideal for Marin as she’s just learning to walk, I think these will be a great staple down the road.
Donsje : Simple, modern, and super cute. This brand is based in Amsterdam, but one of my very favorite online shops, Shop Bitte, sells them as well. Love these and already ordered a pair for Marin.
Mon Petit : Handmade in the USA, these are great basics for everyday. They often partner with designers and other brands to offer limited edition color ways, but they also have great basics in stock as well.
Petit Nord : Scandinavian brand based in Copenhagen, Petit Nord shoes are SO dang cute. I love them. I just wish they weren’t quite so expensive! Yikes. These were actually the leather shoes that sent me down this rabbit hole all together. Although not likely ideal for someone as young as Marin, I’m definitely going to keep these on my wishlist when she gets a bit older.
Little O Luca : Handmade in Washington, these shoes are perfect for little ones. I love the simple and timeless style.
Humble Soles : Handcrafted by artisans in Nicaragua, these leather shoes are beautiful and incredibly well priced. Even better, 10% of sales are donated to help children. Both the Evie and Maggs are great.
Sun & Lace : All shoes are cut and sewn by hand by owner, Briana, in her Wisconsin studio. All of the designs are incredibly cute. I really like the fun lace detail of these boots and the fact that you could easily swap out for other laces to switch things up.
